House Update

I know it has been forever with an update on our house project. Here is the latest:


* We thought our permit expires on 3-14 but I called the other day and it doesn't expire now until 8-14. We are not as in a rush as we first thought. We still want to get it finished soon though!


* We passed the rough inspection last week. That allowed us to insulate.


*We have passed the mechincial inspections. We also passed our pressure test after a 3-4 of trying. We had one joint that didn't want to seal right.


*The insulation is finished and passed that inspection today.


* Eric began on the drywall this afternoon in the garage portion.


* The stairs are complete. Eric and Ted had to re-design them after our rough inspection. They didn't meet code. At least it was a days work and $50 rather than a long weekend and $250 or more.

I will try to post more later this weekend.

Lexi has begun!

She is so excited to have begun her Girl Scout projects. We picked up the book tonight. I am sure we will do more as the days go on!!

Lexi and Girl Scouts!

Sunday we went to a meeting at church for a chance for Lexi to earn a very special medal for church and Girl Scouts. It will take her 3-6 months to complete this. Fr. B will say a special mass and we can go to the Catheral in Lansing if we want and they honor the girls as well. There are rougly 10-12 girls from our parish completing this. Only 2 brownies (the other happens to be her best friend, Angie :) ), the others are Juniours, Cadettes, and Senior level scouts.

The medal is called Family of God. She is excited to get started except we don't have the materials yet. Please support Lexi in this jounery. She will need everyones help (writing letters back, e-mail, and over all support that she can do it! It will be changelling for her).

We had a wonderful time at our annual Mardi Gras celebration at church. We got the crown our good friends, Christie and Bert the new King and Queen! We had a wonderful dinner. The kids got prizes and the entertainment was great.
