Toledo Zoo

We took the kids to the zoo for their wonderful light show. It was a great night (34 degrees), no snow, a little crowd. It was getting worse when we were leaving.

Our favs were the purple tree, the large pine tree covered with lights, the frog on the pole and many others! The kids enjoyed seeing the baby polar bear and tiger. They were both very active last night.

At the entrance, trees in blue and white lights.

Merry Christmas!!

Merry Christmas From Us!
We had a wonderful time at home with the kids!! Lexi was the first one up at 7:30 when I had just got into the shower to get ready for church. Time I was done, all four where in our bed waiting, not very patiently!!!

We let them open their Santa gifts before heading to church.

Alli and Lexi finding their stockings! We need to get names on them for next year!!

When we got home from Church, we had a wonderful breakfast of pancakes, sausage, and OJ. Then we opened the rest of the gifts. It took us a couple of hours! :)
Daddy and Becca playing with a new doll that Santa brought. Dad had to come to the rescue. Mom cut her finger pretty deep trying to get the bottles out with a pair of sissiors!

Becca "helping" Daddy!!

What is it! I can't open it, Jake says!
Lexi with Molly (the doll) opening new glasses for her!
Becca opening her new worm!
Here are some pictures of the kids playing with their new toys!
Becca riding her worm and talking on the phone! This is a hit with her!
Our neighbor, Ms. Lauri, gave the kids a box full of goodies. This is Jake practicing his dart throwing into the window!
Now for some quiet time! Uncle Eric gave this awesome book to Jake to practice his writing skills. He worked on it for quite some time!

Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer!

A visit with Santa

Today was filled with parties!

First we were at Alli's preschool party. Here are some pictures of the girls and Santa.
Alli didn't mind sitting on Santa's lap. She couldn't say what she wanted though! She was shy!

Becca wasn't sure about this guy dress in red with a beard!!

Then I went to Lexi's Class to help with crafts and a yummy trail mix snack.

Queen for a Day

I got to be Queen for a day!

-no laundry
-no cooking
-no hot water so no scrubbing of counters or hand washing dishes

Eric had to shut off our gas lines today so he could connect new ones to it for our furnace for the addition.

We didn't have heat for a couple of hours but the sun was out and our house was warm. Luckily we used paper plates for lunch and we could put the dishes in the dishwasher tonight!! :)

WE HAVE STAIRS!!

We have stairs! No more ladders!!

Eric removing the drywall around the basement stairs.

From the kitchen door looking across before stairs were built.

The first of many stairs to be built!

Looking from the 2nd story down. Eric is working on the bottom landing.

This is the first time all 4 kids were upstairs. They loved it!!

What the house is up too!!

They are working almost every day and night on the house project. It is hard to take pictures of the wires, data cable, cable TV, or phone line, they have drilled holes for and tugged on!! They are done with that part, I think.

Eric has been working on the half wall upstairs and the stairway. Our friend, Tony, has ordered the furnace today and will be installed this weekend.

Here are some recent pictures:
The wall between the 2 rooms
The half wall, behind it will be the stairs.
Looking form my kitchen up. This removing the ceiling of our old basement stairs.

It's going to look a lot like Christmas!!

We Got Snow!!!

The Girls!!

We took the day off from the house project and had fun in the snow. We got about 8 inches of snow between Saturday night and Sunday.

Uncle Eric and Becca get ready to go sledding! No, she didn't like it!!

We got enough snow that the kids didn't have school today!!
